I need to contact some donors and don’t want to just jump into an email without qualifying the communication and letting people know that Penn State is adhering to suggested guidelines for the Covid-19 situation, that we are still open for business but working remotely.
I have been looking for any suggested wording to use when in contact with donors/prospects and I am not seeing anything. Nothing on LaunchPad, nothing on Penn State sites, Strategic Communications site, DAR Communications site etc. I can create my own statement, but thought that there would be some University guidance on this. Have I missed it?
Good afternoon! The Office of Development Communications has crafted the below text regarding the COVID-19 situation in response to your inquiry. This template offers messaging that’s aligned with the guidance of strategic communications on how to discuss our process changes. Also, they suggest that this message be used in addition to customized language that the sender would like to add.
Based on evolving federal guidance and statewide mitigation plans announced by Gov. Tom Wolf around the growing coronavirus pandemic and the global efforts underway to stop its spread, Penn State has announced the remote delivery of all classes through at least the spring semester. Additionally, most of the University’s employees are working in a telecommuting environment, and for the safety of every member of the Penn State community, the University has implemented travel restrictions through at least April 20, 2020. While staff in development and alumni relations will not be traveling at this time, our team remains available to connect with you virtually or over the phone. More information on Penn State’s response can be found at https://sites.psu.edu/virusinfo/.
