Shared Events Calendar Instructions on Launchpad

For those of you who did not directly receive our initial email, we would like to thank you for helping the DRSE team! As many of you now know, the division has recently introduced a new version of Launchpad (Launchpad.psu.edu) which includes an updated version of the shared events calendar.

While the outlook for fall events and meetings is not entirely clear it appears that most, if not all, will need to be offered in a virtual setting which means an increase in virtual webinars and meetings. As a result, our donors and alums are receiving a surge of invitations to online activities.

Keeping all this in mind, by increasing the use of the shared events calendar, units will be able to view before they schedule a meeting or event, what other activities are taking place across the division and determine if they have found the ideal date and time or if they should explore other options. This will help with invitation overlap and can potentially minimize the competition for the attention of the same donor and alum groups among units.

The “how-to Instructions for posting an Event on the new LaunchPad” document that will guide you through the process of entering in a new event on the Shared Events Calendar. There are also best practices mentioned throughout the document to help answer any question you may have. Currently, we are asking that you add your upcoming engagement and stewardship events. It will also be helpful to post your development and alumni volunteer meetings.

It is our plan to start regularly sharing a report of all upcoming events posted to the shared events calendar to senior management. This will be done bimonthly, and we plan to send the first report on August 3, 2020.

With most of the division still working from home it is important that we utilize every possible avenue to stay connected and informed of upcoming events and we would like to thank you in advance for advocating for your unit.
